CPaaS solutions by use case and industry
From one-time passwords to fraud alerts, cart recovery and delivery rescheduling, CommLeap puts WhatsApp, SMS, Voice and Email, with RCS coming soon, to work on the conversations that move your business. One platform, configured around how your customers and your regulators expect you to communicate.
Solutions for the conversations every business has
Whatever your sector, the same six jobs come up again and again. Each one maps to a common combination of channels, templates and automation on CommLeap.
Campaigns designed to engage, with consent built in
Email inboxes are crowded and promotional SMS is easy to ignore. Marketing teams want richer, more interactive channels, but also the discipline to message only opted-in audiences, respect frequency and measure what converts.
- Segmented broadcasts on WhatsApp, and on RCS Coming soon, with images, carousels and buttons
- Event-triggered journeys for welcome, browse and cart abandonment, and win-back
- Consent checks, opt-out handling, quiet hours and frequency caps you can apply to each send
- Delivery, read, click and conversion reporting per campaign and channel
Build journeys in Campaigns & Journeys, reach customers on the WhatsApp Business API and RCS Business Messaging Coming soon, and use email where richer channels are unavailable.
Resolve more in the channel customers already chose
Customers expect to message a business the way they message friends, and they do not want to repeat themselves when a chat moves from a bot to a person. Siloed tools for chat, email and phone make that hard.
- One shared inbox for WhatsApp, SMS and email, with skills-based routing and SLAs; RCS Coming soon
- AI agents Coming soon that will answer from your approved knowledge and hand off with conversation context
- Customer and order data from your CRM or helpdesk beside every conversation
- 24-hour customer service window awareness, so agents can see when a free-form WhatsApp reply is allowed and when a template is required
Run service from the Omnichannel Inbox, automate first-line answers with Conversational AI Coming soon, and add voice escalation when a call is the fastest way to resolve an issue.
Time-critical updates, with fallback Coming soon when a channel doesn't deliver
Order updates, account alerts and appointment reminders only have value if they arrive on time. A single-channel setup leaves you exposed to carrier issues, unregistered numbers and customers who never open one app.
How CommLeap helps
- Trigger messages from your system events through one REST API
- Ordered fallback per message Coming soon, for example WhatsApp, then RCS, then SMS
- Meta-approved WhatsApp utility templates, localized for the markets you serve
- Webhooks for sent, delivered, read and failed statuses; signed webhooks Coming soon
- Priority handling designed to keep critical alerts from queuing behind campaigns
Use the WhatsApp Business API, SMS API and Email API through a single API, with RCS Coming soon.
Verification codes built to reach users and curb fraud
A failed code can mean a lost sign-up or a locked-out customer, and an unprotected endpoint can invite SMS pumping and fake account creation. Teams need reliable delivery and fraud controls without building both from scratch.
- OTP over WhatsApp, SMS, voice and email, with automatic channel fallback Coming soon
- WhatsApp authentication templates with copy-code and one-tap autofill buttons where supported
- Rate limits, country allow-lists and anomaly detection Coming soon to help curb SMS pumping
- Code generation, expiry and verification handled for you, or bring your own codes
Start with the Verify API, and extend to voice OTP for landlines and accessibility needs.
Turn ad clicks and enquiries into qualified conversations
Web forms go cold within minutes, and sales teams waste hours chasing leads that were never a fit. Buyers want an answer now, on their phone, not a callback tomorrow.
- Click-to-WhatsApp ads and website chat entry points that open a conversation in a tap
- WhatsApp Flows that ask qualifying questions and capture details, with AI agents Coming soon
- Rules that route qualified leads to the right rep by region, product or value
- Lead source, conversation history and outcome can be synced to your CRM
Qualify on the WhatsApp Business API, add Conversational AI Coming soon, work leads in the Omnichannel Inbox, and follow up with click-to-call.
Friendlier reminders, faster payments, fewer calls
Paper statements and outbound call campaigns are slow and expensive, and many late payers simply forgot. Collections teams need a respectful, well-timed nudge with an easy way to pay or ask for help.
- Scheduled due-date and overdue reminders using approved templates, with links to your payment page
- In-chat options to pay, request a payment plan or speak with an agent
- Native in-chat payments on WhatsApp in markets where Meta supports them
- Contact-time rules, quiet hours and escalation paths set by your policies
Automate reminders with Campaigns & Journeys over WhatsApp, SMS and email, and route hardship conversations to trained agents in the inbox.
Which channels fit which use case
There is no single best channel. This is the starting point our solutions team uses, adjusted for your countries, audiences and regulatory context. These combinations run on the same API.
| Use case | Lead channels | Fallback and complementary | Applications |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marketing & conversion | WhatsApp, RCS Coming soon | Email for long-form content; SMS for short offers where permitted | Campaigns & Journeys |
| Customer service | WhatsApp, web chat | Email for documents; voice for complex or urgent cases | Omnichannel Inbox, Conversational AI Coming soon |
| Alerts & notifications | WhatsApp, SMS | RCS Coming soon on supported devices and networks; email as a record | Messaging API, webhooks |
| Authentication & OTP | SMS, WhatsApp | Voice for landlines and accessibility; email for low-risk flows | Verify API |
| Sales & lead qualification | Voice click-to-call; email for proposals | Conversational AI Coming soon, Omnichannel Inbox | |
| Payments & collections | WhatsApp, SMS | Email for statements; voice for agreed follow-ups | Campaigns & Journeys, Omnichannel Inbox |
Channel availability, reach and rules vary by country, carrier and device. Recommendations are qualitative and should be validated for your markets.
Customer communication solutions by industry
Every sector has its own moments that matter, and its own rules about how customers may be contacted. These are the patterns we see most often, and how CommLeap supports them.
WhatsApp for banking: timely alerts and trusted service
Banks, lenders and insurers need to reach customers quickly about fraud and account activity while guarding against impersonation, honoring consent and keeping reliable records of the messages they send.
- Transaction and fraud alerts sent as events occur, with quick-reply buttons to confirm or block
- KYC and document-update reminders that direct customers to your secure channels
- Consent captured and stored per purpose, with opt-outs applied across channels
- Verified business presence where eligible, such as WhatsApp Official Business Account status, to help customers tell genuine messages from scams
- Role-based access today; SSO, audit logs and configurable data retention Coming soon
Pair the WhatsApp Business API with the Verify API and SMS (automatic fallback Coming soon), and review our security controls with your risk team.
WhatsApp for e-commerce, from first browse to repeat order
Retailers lose revenue at every gap in the journey: carts left behind, "where is my order" calls and returns handled over slow email threads. Customers want to shop and get help in the same conversation.
- Abandoned-cart and back-in-stock journeys to customers who opted in
- Product catalogs, multi-product messages and carts inside WhatsApp
- Order, shipping and delivery updates triggered by your commerce platform
- Returns, exchanges and order tracking with agent handoff, plus AI assistance Coming soon
Sell and serve on the WhatsApp Business API, with RCS Coming soon, automate with Campaigns & Journeys, and support at scale with Conversational AI Coming soon.
Patient communication that respects privacy
Clinics, hospitals and health services lose capacity to missed appointments and overloaded phone lines, yet every message to a patient carries privacy risk. Communication has to be convenient for patients and conservative about what it reveals.
Booking and reminders
Appointment confirmations and reminders with confirm, cancel and reschedule buttons, which can be synced with your scheduling system.
Pre-visit instructions
Directions, preparation steps and intake forms delivered ahead of the visit, with forms completed in your secure, authenticated portals.
Front-desk messaging
A shared inbox for administrative questions, so staff answer by message instead of returning calls, with routing by location or department.
- Message templates designed to share as little as possible, avoiding diagnoses, results and clinical detail
- Role-based access for every agent and administrator, with audit logs Coming soon
- Configurable data retention Coming soon and PII masking Coming soon in logs and exports
- Voice reminders for patients who prefer or need a phone call
Built on the WhatsApp Business API, SMS, Voice and the Omnichannel Inbox.
Privacy-conscious messaging, decided by your team
Health privacy obligations, such as HIPAA in the United States or PHIPA in Ontario, differ by country, province and state. We recommend treating messaging channels as notification tools, keeping personal health information out of message content and pointing patients to authenticated systems for anything sensitive. Your privacy and compliance teams set the rules and remain responsible for compliance; CommLeap provides controls to help apply them. See our security approach.
Keep applicants, students and parents informed
Universities, colleges and schools juggle admissions enquiries, deadlines, fee reminders and campus notices across audiences who rarely read email. Communications involving minors may also require parental or guardian consent, depending on the student's age and the laws and policies that apply, and call for careful governance.
- Admissions chat that answers program questions and books campus tours
- Application status, document and deadline reminders on WhatsApp and SMS
- Parent and guardian contacts linked to students, with consent tracked per contact
- Campus-wide notices and closure alerts, with fallback across channels Coming soon
Answer enquiries in the Omnichannel Inbox or with Conversational AI Coming soon, send notices through Campaigns & Journeys, and reach households with SMS and email.
Handle disruption at scale, without swamping your contact center
When a storm grounds flights or a hotel overbooks, thousands of travelers need answers at once. Phone queues overflow, and customers who hear nothing turn to social media.
- Booking confirmations, check-in reminders and gate or itinerary changes
- Bulk disruption alerts with rebooking options delivered through high-throughput, queue-based sending, subject to channel and carrier limits
- AI agents Coming soon that will handle common rebooking and baggage questions, with escalation to staff
- Concierge-style messaging for guests before, during and after their stay
- Localized templates for travelers in the markets you serve
Combine WhatsApp, SMS and email with the Omnichannel Inbox, and with Conversational AI once it launches.
Fewer failed deliveries, fewer "where is my parcel" calls
Every missed delivery means another trip, another call and an unhappy recipient. Drivers need to reach customers without exposing personal phone numbers, and customers need a simple way to change plans.
- Proactive dispatch, out-for-delivery and delivery-window notifications
- Self-service rescheduling, safe-place instructions and pickup-point changes in chat
- Masked calling Coming soon between drivers and recipients through the Voice API, without sharing personal numbers
- Proof-of-delivery and exception updates sent from your dispatch system
Notify on the WhatsApp Business API and SMS, connect drivers with Voice (masked calling Coming soon), and integrate your dispatch or TMS through the CommLeap API.
Questions about CommLeap solutions
What is a CPaaS solution?
A CPaaS solution applies a Communications Platform as a Service to a specific business problem, such as sending one-time passwords, recovering abandoned carts or handling support conversations. CommLeap combines channel APIs (WhatsApp, SMS, Voice, Email and Verify, with RCS coming soon) with ready-made applications (an omnichannel inbox and campaigns, with conversational AI coming soon), so each solution is configured on the same platform rather than bought as a separate product. Read our guide to CPaaS.
What are the most common WhatsApp for business use cases?
The most common use cases are order, delivery and account notifications, customer service, marketing campaigns to opted-in customers, lead qualification from Click-to-WhatsApp ads, appointment booking and payment reminders. Authentication codes are also widely sent on WhatsApp in markets where it is the dominant messaging app. Explore the WhatsApp Business API.
Can banks and financial institutions use WhatsApp for customer communication?
Yes. Financial institutions in many markets use the WhatsApp Business API for transaction and fraud alerts, onboarding support, service conversations and collections reminders. What you can send depends on your regulators, internal policies and customer consent, so CommLeap provides consent records, template governance and role-based access, with audit logs coming soon, to support your compliance team's decisions. Read about our security approach.
How does WhatsApp for e-commerce work?
Retailers connect their commerce platform to CommLeap so events such as abandoned carts, order confirmations and shipping updates trigger WhatsApp messages automatically, with marketing messages sent only to customers who have opted in. Customers can browse catalogs, ask questions and receive support in the same thread; automatic SMS or email fallback where WhatsApp is not available is coming soon. See Campaigns & Journeys.
Is CommLeap suitable for healthcare communications?
Healthcare organizations use CommLeap for appointment reminders, booking, pre-visit instructions and follow-ups. We recommend keeping clinical details out of messages and sharing only the minimum information needed, with sensitive content behind authenticated portals. Your privacy and compliance teams decide what may be sent under the laws that apply to you, such as HIPAA in the United States or PHIPA in Ontario, and remain responsible for compliance; CommLeap provides access controls to support those decisions, with configurable data retention and audit logs coming soon.
How do we choose the right channel for each use case?
Start with where your customers are and how critical the message is. WhatsApp and RCS suit rich, two-way conversations; SMS typically offers the broadest reach; email suits long-form and document-heavy content; voice suits urgent or accessibility-sensitive situations. For critical messages, automatic fallback is coming soon: you will be able to set an ordered fallback list so a message moves to the next channel if it is not delivered.
Do we need a separate integration for each use case?
Usually not. Channels and use cases share one REST API and one set of webhooks, so adding a new use case usually means new templates and rules rather than a new integration. Business teams can also work directly in the inbox and campaign tools, with AI tools coming soon, with little or no engineering support. See the developer overview.
How are consent and opt-outs handled across use cases?
CommLeap records consent per contact, channel and purpose, honors opt-out keywords and replies, and supports quiet hours and frequency limits. Marketing sends can be restricted to contacts with valid marketing consent, while service and transactional messages follow their own rules. You remain responsible for collecting consent in line with the laws that apply to you, such as CASL, TCPA or GDPR.
